This beautifully illustrated tale for children aged 2-6 is set in a vibrant garden full of lessons and surprises. Meet Filo, a young Asclepias plant with big questions about her place in the world. This uplifting story reminds us to stand tall - no matter what kind of plant you may be!
"A delightful read for nurturing young minds, as Filo takes us on a journey of discovery, inviting each of us to ponder our unique gifts and role in the world. Filo exposes us to the interconnected nature of plants, birds, butterflies and bees while planting the seeds of inclusion and embracing our differences."
"This is a beautifully written book explaining how we all have something to contribute to this incredible and diverse world. It’s a great example to children that we all have something amazing and special within us. And working with others, we are all important to our surroundings. Sometimes, it takes strength within ourselves to explain that to others."
"This book is a powerful message about acceptance and belonging delivered through important scientific concepts about the importance of all parts of the ecosystem."
"Margie’s book, Am I A Weed?, is so sweet! As a former elementary science lab teacher, I loved how she included science facts to confront a real issue kids face today, bullying. Everyone and everything has a purpose, and we should learn the facts before we judge."
“Precious “little ones” will be fascinated with this book. Self esteem is so important to instill in children at a young age. It gives them the confidence necessary to try new things without fear.”
"This is a short and sweet story about inclusivity and acceptance with a sprinkle of science. This would be a great addition to any primary teacher’s bookshelf."
